Helping the eldery and vurnable shop for groceries through difficult times.
Shoppit is a concept designed to help the elderly and vulnerable shop for groceries by connecting them to the people in the local neighborhood through an app. The idea is to give people an opportunity to offer some assistance when shopping for their own groceries while also earning a small commission while doing so.
When using the app, it is possible to access it as a buyer or seller. As the buyer, you can create a shopping list and publish it as a commission in the app to the users in the vicinity. While as the seller, you can access these shopping lists while out buying your own groceries and determine which people you are able to help out, for example, based on travel distance to buyer, carrying capacity or availability of the requested groceries.
A video showing the concept in more detail can be watched below. Since the concept was developed during the lockdown, we had to take a more creative approach to make it due to very limited resource availability.
This concept was developed during the Design for Interaction course offered in my Master’s degree.
